A DAY IN SWEDEN

I woke up, got dressed and walked outside, headed toward my grandparents’ house. The ground was just dusted with snow, grass showing through.

I was treated to a nice fika, with some almond cake and a saffron bread.

It started snowing, just before I headed off to a nice pampering at the spa. Outside, they had pretty lights in the bushes.

Then I met up with my sister to go see my dad at work. Outside the door to his office was these cool old school weights.

We finished with a lovely dinner, and that was about it.

I wish there could be two of me so one could be in Sweden and one in NYC. Possible? (Can you spot the heart in this photo?)

I love sitting in my parents dining room, looking at the snowy yard through the big windows. The tiny tree outside is a pine my grandmother brought from the village where she grew up in the very north of Sweden. One day it will be mighty and big. It reminds me to have patience, that everything needs to take the time it needs to take.

OH, SUCH A PERFECT WINTER DAY

On Tuesday in Gävle, Sweden, it was -1ºC (30ºF) and sunny. Little snow crystals formed glittering rain as they fell from the tree tops.

The skies were blue and the air was fresh — perfect winter weather.

It was my mom’s birthday and we had lunch at an Italian café.

Afterward, we took a walk down to the stream to enjoy the last bit of the day’s sun rays.

Then a bit of shopping before we went home and made mushroom pasta for the whole family who were coming over for the birthday party.

Oh, such a perfect day.

Passade på att klättra runt lite bland stenarna i strömmen på vägen hem. Älskar den här platsen, gjorde för några år sedan en jättefin vintage-mode fotografering här för en tidning i Miami. Måste hem och leta fram bilderna. Har av någon konstig anledning haft den här låten i huvudet i nån vecka nu.

On the way home I took the chance to climb around on the rocks in the stream. I love this spot. A couple of years ago I did a nice vintage fashion shoot here for a Miami magazine. I have to go home and find the photos. For some strange reason, this song has been in my head for a week or so.

Så här såg jag ut på en kvällspromenad i fina Gävle, min gamla hemstad, i Fredags. Min fina klänning har jag fått av duktiga ekodesignern Pia Anjou. Nu ska jag til syrran på fika. Peace out!
