Having always been a Brooklyn-girl, I always forget how nice it is on the West side on Manhattan, down by Battery Park.

After a matinee movie screening the other day, we walked over toward the water and discovered this lovely oasis — the Irish Hunger Memorial Garden.

I wore my new pair of pink pants, scored at (second hand store) Beacon’s Closet for $24.95. They’re so hot pink the camera doesn’t know what to do with them. This is sort of the true color, even though they look salmon-colored in the other shots.

What I love most about New York is that you can still discover new things, even after living here for so long. I’d never seen this part of Battery Park before. Beauteous…

I found this very cool vintage wicker bag at Beacon’s Closet a few weekends ago. Will be perfect for the many picnics this summer will hold.

I broke it in at the Japanese cherry blossom festival this weekend. I think this will definitely be a fave.

I love Marc. But not the one with the Sponge Bob tattoo, although it is convenient that he made this bracelet (a recent eBay find) so I can openly proclaim my love for the only Marc that matters, my Marc. xo

I buy a lot of stuff in second hand stores, but sometimes I come across something that just immediately falls into my group of closet faves. This sleeveless white shirt has turned out to be such a thing. I was going to leave it in the store, but am so happy I decided to get it.

Now, if only the weather could get nicer so I can wear it in NYC…

Here’s the white vintage shirt I bought the other day, paired with some (also new) black faux leather pants from H&M, Chanel peeptoes, a brass cuff from Fallon and red lips courtesy of Burt’s Bees lip shimmer (in the color Merlot).

This is one of the finds from the new second hand store (which I can’t recall the name of) I came across on my Sunday walk.

A sleeveless white shirt in a great silky material, at $48 it was bit expensive for me but something tells me I will get a lot of use out of it. (Sorry about the mirrorface!)

Thought green was appropriate for the first day of The GreenShows. I found this dress at Guvnor’s Vintage Thrift in Park Slope, one of my fave places to shop for vintage. I think it was $27, definitely one of my best vintage finds ever. The boots are another, scored at Beacon’s Closet this weekend for $34.95 (more pics to come).

This is what I wore for Fashion’s Night Out, seriously high-waisted jeans. Hello curves! I can barely breathe (or sit), but I feel like a totally cool 70s chick, so it’s worth it for a night. Maybe they just breathed less back then? Scored them at that lovely LES thrift store I’ve been having so much luck with lately.

FNO was a zoo. Next year I will be doing Fashion’s Night In.
