Waking up on Monday, I once again had a view — a beautiful wintry view.

Gusts of wind were blowing the powdery snow around the rooftops — rooftops that look so much better covered with snow.

I usually see the East River, Williamsburg Bridge and Manhattan skyline from my windows. Not so much on Sunday night.

It was kind of scary actually, felt a bit like being in a fish tank.

It’s easy to see why flights had to be cancelled. We’re pretty powerless against Mother Nature…

The view the next morning was gorgeous. Photos to come.

I wished for snow, and now I have gotten some. Quite a bit of it actually.

This is Battery Park, covered in a fresh coat of white snow.

As the day progressed you saw less and less of the tops of the buildings, because of the snow flurry.

Now, I can’t even see the Manhattan skyline from my window anymore. I wonder if the subway will run properly in the morning, when I have to go to work again?

Tiny snowflakes were falling off the trees, dancing in the breeze, glistening in the sunlight. The temperature one degree below freezing — a perfect winter day.

I bought this faux fur hat right before I left Stockholm. I like that it’s funky and elegant at the same time, and kind of woodland creaturesque. The price was right too, 199 SEK (about $28).

Right after these photos were taken it started snowing. It didn’t stop until 20 or so hours later. It looks magical right now — a true winter wonderland.
