I love a blue sky on a sunny clear fall day. The yellow leaves are barely hanging on to their branches.
Some have already let go and gathered on the ground.
Others are determined to hold out for just a little bit longer.
The sun is a very welcome presence, warming hands and hearts.
My green boots look very happy in a pile of leaves.
Please, fall, stay just a little bit longer.

I’ve decided my feet are not going to freeze this winter.
So, I ordered these Caribou boots from Sorel. They’re toasty as can be — supposedly good down to 40 below!
For someone who is prone to stepping in puddles, it doesn’t hurt that they’re waterproof either.
They run big, so get a size smaller (I’m a 10 and the 9 fit me perfectly). Got ‘em for $88 from Amazon.
All in all, this feels like a very responsible purchase. I think my mother will be proud.
Being friendly with restaurant owners means you sometimes get to drink beer in their hidden backdoor alleys. It’s a very cool New York thing to do.
Jimmy’s No. 43 is on 7th Street between 2nd and 3rd Ave, on the basement level. Jimmy himself is one of the people behind The Good Beer Seal, so naturally there’s plenty of delicious beer on tap, in addition to the farm-fresh local food on the menu.

I have not worn this sweatshirt dress in years and was just about to put it in the Salvation Army box when I realized it could be fixed!
Out came the scissors and off came the bottom. Chop chop.
I’m still not sure what to do with what used to be the pockets. Take them off or maybe turn them into little bows?
Roll up the sleeves and there it was, a brand new shirt that I will actually wear.
