Idag öppnade utställningen Eco Chic – Towards Sustainable Swedish Fashion på Scandinavia House här i New York. Kul att se svenskt ekomode i rampljuset. Skrev mer ingående om det här. Designers som deltar i utställningen, som sponsras av The Swedish Institute och kurerats av Karin Gräns, är: Anja Hynynen (bild 7 & 8), Bergman’s (bild 10), Camilla Norrback (bild 1), Dem Collective (bild 9), Johanna Hofring från Ekovaruhuset (bild 2 & 3), Julian Red (bild 5), Nudie (bild 10), Pia Anjou (bild 4), Reflective Circle (bild 8), Righteous Fashion (bild 6), Swedish Hasbeens (bild 3) och Zion (bild 11). Jag tycker verkligen om utställningsformatet, jämfört med en runway show, mest för att detaljer är så viktigt vad gäller ekomode. Till exempel så skulle min vän Johanna Hofrings underbara virkade detaljer missas om klänningen swischade förbi på catwalken. Här kan man beundra och studera plaggen från alla vinklar, så länge man vill. Och det bör man…
Lyssnade efter pressvisningen också på en intressant paneldiskussion med Eviana Hartman, designer för Bodkin, Sass Brown, professor på FIT, Hazel Clark, Dean på Parsons, Marcus Bergman från Bergman’s och Karin Stenmar från Dem Collective. Utställningen är gratis och pågår till 21 Augusti för er som är i New York.
