NYFW: EDUN S2011

Edun relaunched with a show set under the High Line in Chelsea. The models looked as if they were strutting in from the street. The collection was beautiful — flowy dresses, African beading, wearable prints, khakis and modern takes on wardrobe basics. The men were all ripped up and disheveled, just like we like them…

VINTAGE GREEN

Concrete Flower: 100915: Vintage Green

Thought green was appropriate for the first day of The GreenShows. I found this dress at Guvnor’s Vintage Thrift in Park Slope, one of my fave places to shop for vintage. I think it was $27, definitely one of my best vintage finds ever. The boots are another, scored at Beacon’s Closet this weekend for $34.95 (more pics to come).

MILITARY + LACE

Details from my outfit for opening night of The GreenShows. Military, buttons, wrap belt (that’s really a scarf) & lace stockings.

NYFW: BACKSTAGE: BIG HAIR

Backstage before Luis Valenzuela at The GreenShows. The hair was big and very teased. The makeup was classic vampy, albeit done with all natural eco products (by a guy with fabulous tattoos). The models were young, some a bit much so.

FNO: HIGH-RISIN’

Johanna Björk: 100913: High-RisingJohanna Björk: 100913: High-RisingJohanna Björk: 100913: High-Rising

This is what I wore for Fashion’s Night Out, seriously high-waisted jeans. Hello curves! I can barely breathe (or sit), but I feel like a totally cool 70s chick, so it’s worth it for a night. Maybe they just breathed less back then? Scored them at that lovely LES thrift store I’ve been having so much luck with lately.

FNO was a zoo. Next year I will be doing Fashion’s Night In.

P.S. Happy Birthday to my sweet little sis’!
