Jag har finbesök från Sverige! Mamma är här i New York med mig i en vecka, sen åker vi till Hawaii. Fick lite svenska tidningar och ostkrokar (så klart!) till min eftermiddagsmimosa.

Om ni inte har sett When You’re Strange, Tom DiCillos dokumentär om The Doors, så tycker jag ni bör göra det. Alla klipp är originalfilm, inga skådespelare eller look-alikes har använts, vilket verkar helt otroligt när man ser filmen. Den känns verkligen som en välregisserad berättelse. Johnny Depp, filmens berättarröst, sa så här: “Watching the hypnotic, hitherto unreleased footage of Jim, John, Ray and Robby, I felt like I experienced it all through their eyes. As a rock n’ roll documentary, or any kind of documentary for that matter, it simply doesn’t get any better than this. What an honor to have been involved. I am as proud of this as anything I have ever done.” Håller med Johnny där.

If you haven’t seen When You’re Strange, Tom DiCillos documentary about The Doors, I think you should. The film consists entirely of original footage, no actors or lookalikes have been used, which seems pretty amazing when you watch it. It really feels like a well-directed story. Veckans CSA-skörd. Två sorters sallad, två sorters lök, små och stora tomater (de oranga babytomaterna är sååå goda!), ett knippe basilika, fyra majskolvar, haricot verts, och en låda frigående ägg (det står faktiskt så på lådan, men man kan ju hoppas att det är hönorna som är frigående).

This week’s CSA bounty. Two kinds of lettuce, two kinds of leeks, big and small tomatoes (the orange baby tomatoes are sooo good!), a basil-bunch, four corn cobs, haricot verts and a box of free-range eggs (that’s actually what the box says, but one would hope it is the hens who are free-range).
Igår kväll satt jag på en filt i Central Park med ett gäng fina tjejer tills det blev mörkt. På en gång kom alla råttor närmre, vilket är lite läskigt. Kanske de hade kollat in våra picnicrester. Vi så även fladdermöss flyga runt ovanför. Snacka om stadsvildmark!

Last night I sat on a blanket in Central Park with a group of lovely ladies until darkness fell. Immediately, all the rats come out of the woodwork, which is a bit scary. Maybe they had their eyes set on our picnic leftovers. We also saw bats flying above. Talk about urban wilderness!
