THE M PLATFORM

This is where I stand most mornings, waiting for the M train. I definitely prefer outdoor platforms over underground ones.

Especially since we’ve been so spoiled with this mild and sunny weather here in NYC.

I’m very into gray, brown, beige neutrals right now and I love how my new faux fur hat has all these colors in it.

SIXER

My friend Jill Danyelle has taken on a challenge to downsize her wardrobe to six items or less. How cool is that? And it’s not the first time she’s done something like this.

For her fiftyRX3 project, Danyelle documented what she wore every day for a year, with a goal of averaging 50% sustainability based on the environmental mantra ‘reuse, reduce, recycle.’ It was one of the original daily outfit and eco-fashion blogs and even though she concluded the project about four years ago, it still garners plenty of attention worldwide.

I think she can do it. Could you?

LAST NIGHT’S PARTY

Concrete Flower: 101122: Last Night's Party

Me, on Last Night’s Party, from the CFDA/Lexus Eco-Fashion Challenge party a week or two ago. I think I’ve got two looks down here: “vampire chic” — the extreme paleness (which must be the flash, I’m really not THAT pale) and “wide-eyed surprise” — the look ever-so-popular in fashion rags.

THE ROCKEFELLER TREE

It may still be hiding, but it’s there. The Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center.

I walk by every day, but hadn’t even noticed this 74 foot giant, right there in the middle of the plaza.

I guess that’s what happens when you live in NYC, you’re too busy to look up. (Note to self: look up more)

The lighting ceremony is on Tuesday, November 30th. 30,000 LED lights will all illuminate at once. Maybe I’ll stop by after work, if there aren’t too many tourists clogging the streets.

I feel bad for these poor branches that didn’t make the cut (or, actually, they DID make the cut, just in a sad kind of way).

WALKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND

Tiny snowflakes were falling off the trees, dancing in the breeze, glistening in the sunlight. The temperature one degree below freezing — a perfect winter day.
