DRESSING WITHOUT MIRRORS

Concrete Flower: 110209: Dressing Without Mirrors

Getting dressed (and putting on makeup) for dinner is kind of weird when you don’t have access to mirrors (besides warped and rusty rearview ones)—and haven’t seen yourself in a one for days. I had M take these photos so I could see how I actually looked.

Ultimately I decided against the furry vest and headband since Haleiwa is a verrry laid-back surf town, but the crochet dress stayed on, and was accompanied by a crochet sweater as well. I got these shell earrings as part of my end-of-schoolyear outfit when I was ten years old (they went with a red flowery dress), I still wear them often and bring them every time I go somewhere tropical.
