Haven’t updated in so long now, ooops. Sometimes life just happens, right? I have lots of exciting news, but first I wanted to share an exciting new thing happening every Saturday in Williamsburg. Smorgasburg is a big food fair (a Brooklyn Flea for foodies!) featuring what seems like a hundred different food vendors.

We got lobster rolls from the Red Hook Lobster Pound. I’ll stray from my mostly vegan diet any day for one of these heavenly buttery rolls.

We brought them down to the park right there, on the Williamsburg Waterfront, which has a killer-view of Manhattan.

I wore this new romper by Society for Rational Dress that I bought (second hand) at Beacon’s Closet the other day. It’s going to be one of my total summer faves, I just know it. So comfy and easy to wear.

When meeting up with friends for lunch in my old Brooklyn-neighborhood on Wednesday, I thought it was a great idea to bike there. Much better than the G train, right?!

Well, during lunch it started pouring and didn’t stop. So, as irony would have it, we ended up on the G train, with our bikes in tow. I’ve never taken my bike on the subway before, another NY-first to cross of the list I guess.

Once home, I changed out of my soaked clothes and into my cozy ones. Later, I decided my comfy western shirt could stay on and come with me to dinner…

I’m a little bit sad that my first week of freedom is all rain and grayness, but I am taking the time to read books and just chill. I’m also wearing jeans and hats like every day, since I couldn’t do that during those office-years. Yay!

Yesterday was such a nice and sunny day, I felt it was the perfect time to wear my new rainbow earrings for the first time.

Walking across the Williamsburg Bridge, it became clear that someone else was (or had been) in the same rainbow bright mood.

Rainbows make me happy. Life makes me happy. Time to get out in the sun!

Yesterday we went to the Sakura Matsuri festival, Brooklyn Botanical Garden’s annual celebration of Japanese culture.

The cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Such beauty. Expect a flower photo bomb to hit this blog very soon.

This Saturday offered some really nice early-spring weather, hopefully an indicator of what is soon (!) to come. I had a particular spring in my step because of these Lacoste leather sneakers that I scored at a clothing swap this week. Fits me like a glove.

A few blocks down from my house, there is a really nice riverside park that very few people seem to know about.

We stayed until the sun started coming down above downtown Manhattan and the chill set in once again.

Cold and sunny is a good combination.

Like gray and brown, up and down, warm and fuzzy, or light and shade…

Sunday was a gorgeous, sunny winter day. Perfect for a long walk.

The intense blue sky made everything look so beautiful.

Blue skies and bright colors make me happy.
